Migrating to a More Sustainable Infrastructure
Geyushi has been working with SAP for a long period using their local datacenter. As a result, most of the servers in the datacenter were outdated which led to a drop in performance and increased downtime that had a negative impact on their production rate and customer’s satisfaction.
Migrating the SAP workloads to the cloud was the optimal solution for this challenge. AWS has various advantages but what made it the ideal choice was that it provides reliable, cost-effective and high performance services. Leveraging AWS services as Amazon EC2 along with Amazon EBS and S3, the company has been able to run performance-intensive processes as well as storing enormous amount of data without worrying about purchasing new servers in their datacenter. Since AWS has provided the scaling feature, the company has been able to scale the servers up or down according to their need. In addition to having unlimited object storage. Not to mention the use of the virtual private network that minimized the cost of purchasing new routers and configuring them.
Reducing Recovery Time and Improving Performance
Migrating the local SAP servers to AWS has remarkably increased the SAP performance guaranteeing maximum benefit and return on customer’s investments without suffering from downtime.
